How to Choose Your Savannah Wedding Photographer
Wedding planning can be one of the most exciting times of your life. Picking out your dream dress, perfect venue and all the other little details. Although, it can also be extremely stressful! It can seem like everyone has an opinion on how your day should look. It can also seem like that’s the only thing anyone ever wants to talk about with you!
I’m here to help, though! The easiest part of your Savannah wedding, should be photography. But how do you choose your Savannah wedding photographer?! Here are some tips:
Find a style that you love!
There are SO many photographers out there these days! Each one amazing, with their own unique style. Some edit with a more moody style - darker colors, muted greens, higher contrast, etc. Some edit with a light & airy style - super bright, film inspired colors, lots of white, etc. Some (like me) edit with a more natural style; so somewhere in the middle of those two styles listed above.
I love a natural (or true to color) edit because it’s classic and timeless. I want all of my couples to look back at their wedding photos in years to come and still be happy with them! Trends come and fade, but a natural photo edit is forever.
Look online at different photographer’s websites, instagrams and even Pinterest to gather inspiration and find an editing style that you gravitate towards. I LOVE when couples show me inspo photos so I can get an idea of what they’re looking for and to see if I would be a good fit.
Figure out your budget beforehand
I get it…weddings can be expensive! I have found that a lot of couples have sticker shock when they see the pricing of certain services. Although, photography is an investment, and probably one of the most important ones of your big day. Photos are tangible memories that you’ll have not just for a little while, but forever! These could be the last photos you have of certain family members. These are the photos you’ll hang in your first home together. These are the photos that you’ll show your children in years to come.
My biggest advice to any engaged couple, is to figure out your budget before you reach out to any photographers. A lot of photographers will list their pricing or start prices on their website so you have any idea if they’re in your budget. If not, when you email them, let them know what your budget is.
I never want to waste anyone’s time, so all of my starting prices are listed on my pricing page. Once you reach out to me, I’ll send over a pricing sheet that gives more information about my most popular wedding packages and answer any questions that you have!
Set up a consultation or meet up
I can’t stress how important talking to your potential wedding photographer via phone call or in person is! Don’t get me wrong, I love emailing! Phone calls can be nerve-wrecking (even for me lol). But hearing how your photographer talks and seeing how you interact with each other is crucial. I think the biggest factor in picking your Savannah wedding photographer is making sure you two vibe.
I really want to form a friendship with each of my wedding clients so they are comfortable around me. Comfortability really shows in photos! If you’re local, let’s grab a coffee and get to know each other! If you’re out of town, let’s chat on the phone. I wan to know all about your love story, how you met, what you love about each other PLUS the details of your wedding day.
